Wide Tooth Comb/Tangle Teezer – Whether you are transitioning or completely natural, if you aren’t using your fingers for finger detangling, you MUST use a tool that will safely detangle your curly strands.
Spray Bottle – Use your spray bottle for any concoction/spritzer you decide to make.  I like to use my spray bottle for oil infused water OR just regular water.
Satin Bonnet – Help preserve your strands and protect your strands from drying out and becoming damaged on your cotton pillowcase.  You could also use a satin pillowcase in conjunction for extra protection.

Hair Drain Stopper – Unless you want to invest $$$ in a plumber, I would highly recommend getting a drain stopper to prevent shed hairs from clogging up the shower drain.

Clips/Bobbi Pins – To secure your hair while styling/detangling, you will need clips.  Likewise, Bobbi pins will become your best friend as they help greatly in the styling process.  I find random pins in my hair all the time and I always keep a handful on deck.

Other Products:  I don’t really have product suggestions because everyone’s hair behaves differently.  I know what I use – Garnier Fructis Shampoo/Conditioner (for color treated hair), Giovanni Direct Leave-In and for my DC, I used Giovanni DC or make my own concoction.  In whatever you may choose, pick products that reflect the following:

  • Sulfate-Free Shampoo
  • Deep Conditioner
  • Conditioner (my go to for an everyday use – Suave Naturals)
  • Leave-In Conditioner
