MANE Events – Roller Set on Natural Hair + OOTN

By the end of the night… CURLS STILL POPP’D!

Hey everyone!

If you didn’t know by now I have taken out my twist extensions and decided to rock some CURLS!

And guess what?! *whispers* I made a new video!
I’m getting good with these videos here lately!  I’ve been cranking out a new one every week it seems – GO ME!

Pre-Curls
I took my braids out on Wednesday, applied EVOO to my hair and hands, and gently detangled my hair.  You have to remember, I had those extensions in for 3 weeks, so the debris and shed hair was serious enough for all of that.

After I picked through my hair with my fingers, I wrapped it up and went to the gym.  I figured I would go ahead and get my workout in while my hair was dirty, that way I could come home and be clean all around.

I washed my hair with Trader Joe’s Nourishing Spa Shampoo and Conditioner and applied Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack to my hair for a deep conditioner.  I received a small, sample sized pack out of my curlBOX and I can’t say that I like it too much.  My hair was magnificently soft afterward or anything, and I kept it in for about an hour (maybe a little over).  Palmer’s products and I haven’t had the best of luck…

I detangled my hair with my Tangle Teezer, applied Giovanni Direct Leave In and Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie with regular Shea butter to my strands, braided my hair in 8 braids, and didn’t touch it until Friday.

Curl Day!

Along came Friday and I knew I would have to attend a holiday party that night. I could have just worn a braid out and that would have been just fine, but I wanted to sport some holiday curls – so I did.

Before I was natural, I used to roller set my hair RELIGIOUSLY.  It was an every week ordeal for me – color (semi), wash, set, ROCK!  And I keep all of my tools so I used my rollers for this project.  The rollers I used were from Sally’s – perm rods in the orange and purple… I don’t know how many packs because I’ve accumulated so many over the years, but I put enough in my hair so that I wouldn’t have to separate the curls after I took the rollers out.

Products/Tools Used:
Perm Rods
Hair Clips
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Eco Styler Gel
Water
