Product Review: Curls Unleashed Lavish in Lather Sulfate-Free Shampoo and No Restrictions Moisturizing Conditioner

I scored these Curls Unleashed products during ‘Fro Fashion Week and couldn’t wait to try them.  I used them previously (check it out here) but wanted to wait before I conducted an official review.

Plus, I recorded a video (I’m on a roll) and wanted to share it with you all in conjunction with the review.  This post will focus strictly on the Lavish in Lather Sulfate-Free Shampoo and No Restrictions Moisturizing Conditioner.

Soooo… did I like them?  Would I recommend them?  Find out below!

Curls Unleashed Lavish in Lather Sulfate-Free Shampoo
Price Point:

Size/Amount:
12 oz.
Description:
Lavish in the ultimate shampoo experience as your hair is gently cleansed, moisturized and detangles with lemon balm, rosemary and hops.
What It Does/Who It’s For:
Created for Curly, Kinky and Wavy Hair Types
It is also said to be:

• Non-stripping
• Moisturizing
• Great Lather
This product does not strip the hair of its natural oils and is gentle enough to use daily. Packaging is BPA free and recyclable.
The lather was awesome!  I can honestly say that my hair did not feel stripped after using this product which made my conditioning process that much easier.
Consistency:
It’s not a heavy product, but it’s not watery either.  You know how you can put some shampoo in your hands and the next minute it’s on the shower floor because it’s way too watery?  Yea, it’s not like that at all.  It was a perfect consistency.
The Scent:
The scent is not memorable, which to me means it was neither good nor was it bad.  It was just a smell. It quickly dissipated, so if you aren’t into heavy scents this product should work just fine.

The Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER), SODIUM C14-16 OLEFIN SULFONATE, SODIUM DISODIUM COCOAMPHODIPROPIONATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, POLYQUATERNIUM-7, COCAMIDE MEA, GLYCERIN, POLYQUATERNIUM-10, HYDROLYZED KERATIN, YARROW, HOPS, ROSEMARY, CHAMOMILE, LEMON BALM, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, PPG-5-CETETH-10-PHOSPHATE, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, BENZYL ALCOHOL, DISODIUM EDTA, CITRIC ACID, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), BENZYL BENZOATE, HEXYL CINNAMAL, LILIAL, LYRAL, METHYL IONONE.
Overall Conclusions:
I loved the lather that this shampoo gave me.  I’d definitely use it again and again and again… for the right price. I would have to catch it on sale.  It’s not overly expensive, but there are some other brands that could get the job done for a cheaper price.

Like the shampoo, it was thick enough to coat the strands and thin enough to distribute the product evenly throughout hair.
The Scent:
The scent is not memorable, which to me means it was neither good nor was it bad.  It was just a smell. It quickly dissipated, so if you aren’t into heavy scents this product should work just fine.
The Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), POLYQUATERNIUM-37, PROPYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE, PPG-1 TRIDECETH-6, GLYCERIN, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, DIMETHICONE, QUATERNIUM-80, PERSEA AMERICANA (AVOCADO) OIL, HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, PANTHENOL, ANTHEMIS NOBILIS (CHAMOMILE) EXTRACT, SALVIA OFFICINALIS (SAGE) EXTRACT, URTICA DIOICA (NETTLE) EXTRACT, ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) EXTRACT, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, ACHILEA MILLEFOLIUM (YARROW) EXTRACT, ACTINIDIA CHINENSIS (KIWI) FRUIT EXTRACT, PEG-9 DIMETHICONE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), AMYL CINNAMIC ALDEHYDE, BENZYL BENZOATE, d-LIMONENE, LILIAL, LINALOOL, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, BENZYL ALCOHOL, CI 19140 (YELLOW #5), CI 42053 (GREEN #3).

Overall Conclusions:
Nope.

I was not impressed by this conditioner.  One reason I didn’t like it is because it doesn’t have enough slip for me.  I also did not feel significant softness after the conditioning process.  I followed both sets of directions – for regular conditioning and deep conditioning… still nothing. *le-sigh*

Results from the Video:
I liked my results of my hair, but I didn’t like the immediate “style”.  I did love how it looked in the scarf on Day 1:

Although these products were given to me, I was not paid to do this review.  All of my opinions are authentic.
