7 Cardinal Rules of Life
8 Cardinal Rules of Life
I am unaware of who wrote the 7 Cardinal Rules of Life (I cannot find an author per se), but I put my own twist on them and added an additional rule to live by.  Although rules are made to be broken (or so we’d like to think) these rules should always be first and foremost in our lives.  It encourages self-awareness by pushing us to see the good in everything while controlling the one thing we have complete control over – ourselves.
How can we implement these cardinal rules into our lives?  Simply put:

Make Peace With Your Past
– so it does not spoil your present. Likewise, don’t get anxious about the future. It’s time to live now.

What Others Think Of You
– is NONE of your business. The end.

Time Heals Almost Everything
– give it time. Being patient has its’ high rewards!  And in the meantime, keep moving forward – after all time never comes to a standstill now does it?

No One Is The Reason For Your Own Happiness
– except YOU. Live your best life and give your 100% without inhibiting who you are. You have the right to be happy!  Do what you love and love what you do!

Do NOT Compare Your Life With Others’
– you have NO idea what their journey is all about, so stay in your lane. Two words: TUNNEL VISION.  The grass isn’t always greener and you don’t know how many failures it took to reach success.  Focus on you.  Do you, boo.

STOP Thinking Too Much
– it’s alright to NOT know ALL the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it so remain open to change and new experiences.  Don’t overthink it and just go!

Smile
– you do NOT own all of the problems of the world, so smile through the tough times! Your smile can turn situations around not only for you, but possibly the person on the receiving it. Through it all, stay positive!  There is no adversity in a smile.

Be Grateful For Everything!
– you have a LIFE to be thankful for! When you are thankful for everything, you seldom complain about anything and appreciate life for exactly what it is!  I am a firm believer in being grateful for all that comes your way – good, bad or indifferent.  How you process what happens in your life is based on your perspective and if you always look for the good in everything and the God in everyone, nothing but good things will happen.  It is definitely just that simple.

What is your favorite rule out of the 8?  Which one are you going to focus more on this year?

You’re so beautiful inside, out. 🙂

I especially like 1, 2, and 8. If I had to pick just one, I would go with 2. You explain 2 very well and it inspires me every time.
