Ahhhh, my beloved top knot.
Ever since I decided to take the shears to my natural hair I have had a little trouble recreating my favorite hairstyle – the top knot bun.  Not anymore!  I’m going to share with you a quick way to get your hair into a textured top knot with just two items: elastics and Bobbi pins.

I figured this could help any medium length naturals in my category – you want to rock the bun but you just can’t seem to get it to sit on top of your head!

Some things to remember when recreating this style:
  • Stretched, textured hair is ideal, but it can also be done on unstretched hair (just use a little water to manipulate your hair)
  • Don’t pull your hair too tight.  It’s possible to get sleek results without scarring your scalp – I promise.
  • Play with the look until you like what you see.  If you like it messy, make it messy.  If you like it polished, polish away!  Just make it you!
