These products were sent to me for testing purposes.
All opinions expressed are honest and true from me to you.

With all of the traveling I have been doing over the past few weeks, I was more than excited to sit down and finally get a chance to pamper my hair with the SheaMoisture SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal Hair Care Collection.  Though I was not sent the Renewal Conditioner for review, I did receive the Renewal Hair Serum, the Renewal Shampoo, and the Renewal Hair Masque.
I have been using Shea Moisture since … forever! My first hair post on this website featured Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie (you can read it here).  I love the fact that the products are manufactured with natural and certified organic ingredients, are not tested on animals and do not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, paraffin, mineral oil, petroleum or DEA! And they always smell so awesome.

I used the Hair Serum first – here’s more on that product:

SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal Hair Serum
“Gives hair a quick infusion of moisture. Hair instantly looks more vibrant and lustrous.”
Price Point: $10.99

Size/Amount: 2 fl oz
Who is it for?
Anyone can use this product (all hair types).
For those who may be new to the blog, my hair is curly – type 4 (for all intents and purposes) and is color treated.

What does it do?
“This dual action serum nourishes the scalp with our antioxidant Superfruit Complex.
A special blend of ultra-moisturizing Marula Oil and Biotin add vibrancy to dull, lackluster hair.
When used as a pre-wash in our System, it revitalizes damaged hair while providing anti-aging benefits, color protection, hydration, nourishment, anti-stress, managability, smoothness, heat protection and shine.
Hair looks more vibrant and lustrous! Ten Benefits Specific for our HAIR & SCALP SERUM: Age-Defy Manageability Anti-Stress Nourish Color Protect Shine Heat Protect Smooth Hydrate Soften”
I used this serum as a pre-wash for the system, meaning before I did anything related to washing my hair I used this.  I explain how below.

Directions:
“Shake well before using to get the full benefit. Apply uniformed oil serum directly to scalp and work through hair paying particular attention to the ends. Style as usual. For best results, leave on for one hour then cleanse and condition with 10-in-1 RENEWAL SYSTEM SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER. For a nourishing boost of moisture, apply a few drops of serum as needed. Upon sitting, the product will separate into its 2 phases.”
I used this exactly how the directions spelled out to use it.  I applied the serum directly to my scalp, massaging it into my scalp and hair shaft and let it sit – uncovered – for an hour.  My hair felt very soft and I think it helped to lift the dirt from my scalp.  Additionally, it did not sting or irritate my scalp.
The Scent:
This scent is light and clean.

Consistency:
The consistency is oily (since it is an oil).  It isn’t a thick oil (think castor oil) and can be a bit runny if not targeted into the direct spot of application.  I would say a little goes a long way, but really use as much as you feel is necessary.  I used a good amount of it because I wanted to make sure my whole head was covered… annnnnnnd because I can be heavy handed sometimes….
Ingredients:
“Superfruit – A blend of Red Raspberry, Ketones, Goji, Acai and Guava Extracts rich in anti-aging antioxidants. Marula Oil – Contains natural plant peptides that help support hair’s elasticity. Biotin – Nourishes individual strands for thicker, stronger hair. Shea Butter – Deeply moisturizes while conditioning hair and scalp.”
Water, Isopropyl Myristate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Dicaprylyl Ether, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Panthenol, Glycerin (Vegetable) , Citric Acid, Biotin, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Cinnamidopropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Ipomoea Batatas Extract, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Phenethyl Alcohol
Conclusions:
This was a great pre-wash for my hair.  Would I use it every time? Probably not.  It is time consuming (think sitting around for one hour), but if I have the time to spare I would definitely do this treatment with my wash.  Also, since it retails for roughly $11 I can’t see myself using it every time because the way my budget is set up… yea.  Only for special occasions, please (read: pamper sessions that involve wine and bubble baths).
After an hour, it was time to wash my hair with the Shampoo:

“SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal Shampoo

Aids in protecting and renewing vibrancy to lackluster hair.”

Price Point: $10.99

Size/Amount: 13 fl oz

Who is it for?
Anyone can use this product (all hair types).

What does it do?
“Provides Sulfate-free cleansing, anti-aging benefits, color protection, hydration, nourishment, rejuvenation, anti-stress, manageability and softness without build up.
Our Superfruit Complex helps nourish the scalp while Marula Oil and Biotin combine in a moisture-rich formulation to support hair’s elasticity. Hair looks vibrant and lustrous.
Ten Benefits Specific for our SHAMPOO: Age-Defy Nourish Anti-Stress Manageability Color Protect Revive Body Hydrate Soften No Build Up Sulfate-Free”

Directions:

“Apply to wet hair and gently massage into a rich lather. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. For best results, follow with 10-IN-1 RENEWAL SYSTEM CONDITIONER.”

The first time I used it my hair was DIRTY and I only had to lather once to get a clean scalp.  The next time I used it my hair was a sticky, gummy mess and it cleared all of the residue by wash two (I did two washes just to make sure everything was gone).  Neither time did my hair feel stripped (read: dry/brittle/weak).  Because I was not given the conditioner to try, I skipped that step on both occasions and opted to go directly to the hair masque.
The Scent:
This scent is light and clean.  I really loved how it made my hair smell after using it.
Consistency:
The consistency is very smooth and creamy and it isn’t “sticky”.  When on the hair, the lather is amazing! (see above)

Ingredients:

“Superfruit – A blend of Red Raspberry, Ketones, Goji, Acai and Guava Extracts rich in anti-aging antioxidants. Marula Oil – Contains natural plant peptides that help support hair’s elasticity. Biotin – Nourishes individual strands for thicker, stronger hair. Shea Butter – Deeply moisturizes while conditioning hair and scalp.”

Conclusions:
I will definitely be using this shampoo until it is all gone.  A little goes a longgggg way, so it is justifiable in price (plus it’s 13 fl oz so that means bang for your buck).

As I stated earlier, I did not receive the conditioner so I skipped it and went directly to the hair masque:

Name of Product/Description
(all information on product taken directly from Shea Moisture
“SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal Hair Masque
This intensive, antioxidant-rich treatment repairs dull, lifeless hair in a matter of minutes.”
Price Point: $12.99

Size/Amount: 12 fl oz

Who is it for?
Anyone can use this product (all hair types).

What does it do?
“Treats damaged hair while providing anti-aging benefits, color protection, hydration, nourishment, rejuvenation, strength, anti-stress, deep conditioning, softness and shine.
Counteract signs of aging by nourishing the scalp with our SuperFruit Complex and infusing hair with ultra-moisturizing Marula Oil and Biotin.
Ten Benefits Specific to our HAIR MASQUE : Age-Defy Nourish Anti-Stress Revive Body Color Protect Shine Deep Condition Strengthen Hydrate Soften”

Directions:
“Section clean, wet hair. Apply generously. Use a wide tooth comb to distribute evenly from root to ends. Leave in for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. For deep penetrating treatment, cover hair with plastic cap and apply moderate heat for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. When using hair steamer do not cover, moist heat will add to masque’s hydration.”
I definitely applied this product generously!  I didn’t use a wide tooth comb (opted to use my fingers) for distribution.  I used it in both of the capacities mentioned: deep treatment and a 5 minute treatment.  For the deep treatment, I didn’t add any additional heat to the hair, nor did I use a plastic cap.  I just let it sit for 30 minutes while tidying up the bathroom (which had steam from the shower) and then rinsed it.  My hair was very soft to the touch!  Both instances (deep treatment and 5 minute treatment) I made sure to rinse my hair thoroughly.
The Scent:
All of the products in this collection smell the same (which is a plus).

Consistency:
The consistency is very creamy!  It was extremely easy to apply and had lots of slip.
Ingredients:
“Superfruit – A blend of Red Raspberry, Ketones, Goji, Acai and Guava Extracts rich in anti-aging antioxidants. Marula Oil – Contains natural plant peptides that help support hair’s elasticity. Biotin – Nourishes individual strands for thicker, stronger hair. Shea Butter – Deeply moisturizes while conditioning hair and scalp.”

Conclusions:
This masque is awesome and left my hair feeling sooooooooo soft.  I will say, like I say with all Shea Moisture Deep Conditioners/Hair Masques is that I would prefer for the product to not be in a tub (the water from my hands gets all mixed up in the product and I hate that), but other than that I don’t have any cons. Because it is a hair masque, you can use it for deep conditioning which for me, comes with every wash, and $13 isn’t that bad for it.  Though I was very generous with the product, I still didn’t use as much as I thought I would and that may be because my hair is shorter than it was before.
Freshly washed and ready for styling!
I wish I could give you all the A-OK on the system as a whole, but I can say that the products I had the opportunity to try really shined individually as well as collectively.  I can only imagine how effective the system is with the conditioner.
Have you used the SheaMoisture SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System?
What are your thoughts?

I am loving the SM Superfruit Shampoo and Conditioner. I have not tried the masque or oil. I have not used shampoo in a while and wanted to try a new one so I checked this one out and really like it. The conditioner is very moisturizing and does seem to enhance my hairs sheen. Thanks for sharing how things work for you that helps us find what might work for us. Thank you!
