My Acne Prone Skin Care Regimen featuring Spin for Perfect Skin

Processed with VSCOcam with x1 preset

As posted on my Instagram, I’ve updated my skin care regimen with a few new products.  Since I have acne prone skin, I really wanted to simplify the products I use making sure they are multifunctional and as natural as possible.  Moreover, these products are easy to travel with and seemingly last forever.

The Vitagoods Spin for Perfect Skin is my new favorite gadget. I use it for both my face and body (hence the larger brush attachment) and it’s so perfect for makeup removal. I like the exfoliating brush attachment that comes with it, too. I use that about once a week, if not twice.  It can be rough so depending on necessity is when I use it.  The face brush is much more softer for everyday use.  The Spring for Perfect Skin comes with a pumice stone attachment as well but I haven’t used it yet.  I think I may hit up these heels every once and a while, but I don’t know how often I will be using it.

I‘ve really been researching what spin brush I should get (including replacement brush prices because those COST) and I’ve found the Spin for Perfect Skin to be the most economical. Plus, it’s waterproof, battery operated and lightweight. Since I’ve been loving the Spin Brush so much, my good friends over at Vanity Planet gave me and my friends an exclusive 70% off coupon code spin4proy which drops the price from $99.99 to $30!  Just type the code at checkout and you’re good to go!

Additionally, I add just a couple drops of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap (Peppermint or Tea Tree) to the brush and let the brush attachments do most of the work.  Can I just say that Dr. Bronner’s is amazing?  I used it back in the day, forgot about it, and this recent repurchase reminded me just how awesome this Castile soap is for my skin – OH MY WORD!  I also use it on my body and as a shampoo, but on the bottle it has 16 more uses for it because it’s LIKE THAT!  I follow up my wash with a cold water rinse, add oil, and dab off the excess water/oil with a paper towel.  For my most recent travel, I used the TGIN Organic African Shea Butter (pictured above) since it’s already travel size but at home I use either raw Shea butter or almond oil to seal.

In the mornings, I do a cold water rinse and apply the Boots Botanics Mattifying Gel Cream for daytime wear. My skin is looking wayyyy smoother and clearer!! I just recently started using this formula and it has really helped with my oily spots which is typically found in my T-zone area.  It keeps my face matte during the day and is great for my makeup.  I don’t feel like I need a primer for my makeup anymore (though I may invest in one for aesthetic purposes).

I take care of my lips with a balm, most recently using the TGIN Peppermint Shea Butter Lip Balm (tingles so goooooood)!  One thing I will note about TGIN lip balm is it can get gritty in warmer temperatures and being that I live in Arizona that isn’t really appealing.  I may also be in the minority but I don’t particularly mind the texture as long as I am applying it with my fingers and not from the tube.  I am currently reviewing the TGIN line and I’ll share my thoughts with you all soon!  For now, I am still using that balm and also using raw Shea butter at night to coat my lips.

This skincare routine, in conjunction with drinking nothing but water and eating more raw, natural and organic foods than processed foods, has really helped build my confidence and I am more likely than not to go out without an ounce of makeup!  It’s just something about seeing your skin transform before your eyes that makes you feel like a million bucks.  Above, I have on no makeup but I do have on a little gloss.  My face isn’t spotless, but it’s in better condition than I’ve seen before and better skin means happy pRoy!
