Wanting to better your life is a life changing process. It starts with the realization that you want to make the change, then going through a never ending process of committing yourself to becoming a better you. Did you catch that? You go through a never ending process of committing yourself to becoming a better you. Never ending process. The process never ends.
While listening to my audiobook this morning, a key point stuck out to me: success is measured by whether or not you have achieved happiness. If you’re not happy, then are you truly successful?
That resonated with me because it is truly something I believe in. Overall happiness is the ultimate goal for me. This is why I am committed to achieving success in every area of my life.
If there are areas in my life that I’m not completely happy with: relationships, career, self image, finances, health – whatever it may be, right now I want to commit to achieving success in those respective areas.
This is why I stated you go through a never ending process of committing yourself to becoming a better you because even if you do succeed at all of these, maintenance is just as important as the initial change.
Yea, I’m down to my postpartum weight, but now I’ve got to maintain it or have another goal I’m trying to attain for my health.
Sure, you’re out of debt, but you have got to stay there. On top of that, the more you learn about finances along the way, the more your initial goals morph into other bigger, better goals.
It’s a never ending cycle, but that’s the point of life, right? To live, to learn, to grow, to evolve.
And remember: maintenance is only good but for so long. It’s time to level up, fam!
My self care was being able to take a few pics for the blog today. I should have a new hair post up sometime by the end of the week, so be on the lookout for that!
